Create Realistic Bubbles with Cinema 4D's Particle System
Join me as I continue to learn and test out the newly updated particle system in C4D 2024.4. I wanted to try and create some practical FX and decided to focus on making beer bubbles that appear, float to the top, and pop. We will also create a foamy head on the beer using particles and the volume builder. You'll need to update to C4D 2024.4 to follow along. This is great for beginner and intermediate C4D users.

Very cool!
as a game artist graduate looking at the train wreck that is the industry right now, thank you for showing us the career path. Id love to know the different struggle of a entertainment artist transitioning into this field, a "medical illustration" for artists would be a cool video idea
I think the career path would still be similar. As a gaming/3D artist, you'll be ahead of the game and prepared for work that would be more challenging for others. Gaining medical knowledge is still a huge part of it. You could consider getting an anatomy degree or something along those lines. I know of some people who have gone that route and are doing well in the medical animation sector.
Hi! What are the most common programs used in the medical illustration field? For computers and I pads? Adobe softwares I assume and some other 3D modeling softwares?
Yep - the Adobe Suite, Procreate, 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender, 3DS Max, or Maya - I use Cinema 4D, as many in the industry do). If you get into any gaming things, Unity or Unreal Engine are useful. For 2D medical illustration needs, Photoshop and Illustrator are the main tools.
This is amazing for rapid prototyping in games. I am able to get a visual concept together for design documents quickly, and you can easily remake the models later for production and use the same code and animations you apply to them.
Would be cool to see an updated version of this video... by now Meshy has shipped some updates to their algorithm, and CSM 3D also just significantly improved their Image-To-3D AI, so a comparison between those two would be very interesting, maybe with more focus on Image->3D instead of Text->3D?
Very helpful! Thank you
This is exactly the video I have been looking for. But how does Genie make money? Whenever you review something that is "free" that needs to be covered and revealed
My understanding is that they make money through their other tools. The new "Dream Machine" AI video tool, for example, has a pricing structure.
Is blender good for 3d medical animation because all the pros seem to be using cinema 4d or maya what should I do ???
Do you think this one is better than meshy>
I do not have a Red Shift account. Please create a matrix using the basic renderer available in the program
Hello! My particles don't render, and I'm not sure why. I see them in the IPR window, but when i hit Shift-R they don't render. Please help!
Hi. Can I use AI in this program?
I've heard of trying to reinvent the wheel. Rather than seeking to replace professionals and producing something like this, it is better to use such technology to target productivity. Either approach drives prices down for the end user, and the latter is far more feasible than the former.
Hey, thx for the demonstration! How would you go about that if you still wanted the particle growth (radius) over it's age but still have randomly scaled particles so that the result is not so even?
Hi Travis, this was a great tutorial. There is one question I have, however. at around 12:26, you created an vertex color map before you created the vertex maps. The question is why? It seems to work without it, that is just with the vertex maps and not the vertex color map at all. Please let me know. Thank you!
You are absolutely right. The vertex color map isn’t needed. I think I just had that in my head from a previous project. Thanks!
@@travisvermilye my pleasure 😇
Can you make a rain tutorial like those fancy xparticles rain tutorials using default c4d ?
Maybe. I’ll see what I can do. :)
thank you for sharing
Awesome stuff!
🔥🔥🔥🔥Thanks
So much useful information in your videos for everyday work in C4D! Thank you very much for sharing! 👍🏻

I humbly want to ask sir, I'm intending to learn about Medical Illustrator and My option are either to become a Freelancer or be a Medical Illustrator, but I don't have a degree and willing to self-study. So my question is it possible to be a Medical Illustrator without having into college but just a pure skills and knowledge?
Is it possible? Yes, I’d say it is, but it’s a lot of self direction, time, and dedication to make it happen. Hit me up via email if you want to discuss more. My info is at the end of the video.
Excellent 🎉
This is an excellent tutorial! Thanks for posting this.
By the way... I am someone who decided to transition to Blender and UE two years ago but occasionally have to use C4D due to certain client demands. There's been only one RUclipsr in the entire RUclips space who has never addressed or answered this question: Is Cinema 4D a 3D software that offers its own renderer? Secondly, why does Maxon demand extra money for Redshift? Listen, folks... we've been getting ripped off for years. It's time someone put a stop to this nonsense! Maxon acquired Redshift and is making its users foot the bill! That's what's happening. And the prices are not cheap either! How can a 3D program not provide you with a decent, modern, and functional rendering solution? And how can they demand extra money for an acquired renderer? Especially when this program struggles to even perform a basic boolean operation properly after all these years. Many modeling and interaction issues have been blinding us with frustration and patience, yet why isn't there more backlash against having to pay extra?
It is a fair point you make. I think that some people use Octane or Arnold, so why build in the cost of Redshift in the software? It actually does have a renderer built in, but I could understand why you wouldn't want to use it. The thing that I don't like about everything being free, is that it starts sounding like Communism. I may want to work for free sometimes, but other times I want to be paid. That is capitalism I suppose. Everything can't always be free. What does bring prices down, however, is competition, and that is a healthy part of capitalism I guess.
Hi, I'm glad that I stumbled on this. I'm studying to have a degree in BS in Visual Arts with a Digital Art & Design concentration. I want to get into motion design work but is also interested in medical animation, not the illustrating part. Are there any careers geared toward that, or would I have to earn another degree in Medical Illustration. Thanks
Great videos Travis. Please keep it up! For ease of sync in collaborative studio productions and to create less math equations for yourself, I suggest starting your sims at a negative frame and always start the scene at frame 1 (zero is not a value) so that it's much easier to match edits, comps and shots that the animation might need to be placed inside of. 👍 I would also love to see you express your enthusiasm and joy that you express with words so we can feel your excitement for the wonderful work. Energy is contagious and it really helps your videos get more views and followers. Thank you again!
Great tips, Clark. Much appreciated!
Thanks Travis, each new video of yours is more and more interesting!
Is the particle system more user friendly than tyflow in 3dsmax?
So good! Lots of amazing tips here. Looking forward to more. Thanks Travis
Cool :)
thank you for sharing
thanks, wonderful window generator... thanks
what do you think is this an x-particles killer?
I would say not yet, but it is definitely gaining.
I believe you can put friction and turbulence in the particle group as well and it will exclude it from everything else.
Thanks! I'll try that next go around. :)
very nc
Image to 3D would be cool to review on different platforms
The mold growth looks quite even. Is there a way to make it look more organic?
To get a more uneven spread, you could try working with different noise types and scales in the vertex map fields section. I think a combination of reducing the intensity of the spherical field and modifying the noise in the shader field might do the trick.
@@travisvermilye Thanks for the tip
Congratulations Travis! This is the first tutorial on the new particle stuff I saw on the internet that shows a concrete scenario completely and also explains it very well! The speed, the tonality, the image - everything to the point. Wonderful to follow. Big like! Please keep it up. Liked and subscribed. Greetings from Austria
Thank you so much - I appreciate it! Cheers!
Two things - Ref link is still cut-off 2. I tested this vs lumalabs, and lumalabs generated much better models while being free. I don't think there's even a comparison to be honest.
Great tut, thank you. I thought I'd be clever and use the Freeze clamp field in grow mode, for some reason this practically freezes everything... Perhaps a bug to be ironed out.
Love this!!
This tutorial is so clear and easy to follow, subbed and looking forward to learning more from you. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
